In this 5-day boot making course you will make a pair of Derby lace up boots. We’ll take you through the process of choosing lasts, basic design, pattern making, cutting, skiving, decorating leather, sewing, making components and insoles, lasting, soling and finishing. We’ll use natural leathers so you can explore different leather decorating techniques. Suitable for people with some sewing experience and an interest in learning pattern making and footwear construction.

The process of making a pair of boots is a great experience. It’s creative, sculptural, practical, and technical all at once and the journey, because it is a journey, is immensely rewarding.
