Our Workshop
Our workshop, studio, atelier whatever you want to call it is a modest affair on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. About 600m from Maroochydore beach our shed – as we actually call it, is behind our semi renovated 1960s beach house. Over the years we have managed to collect a great amount of lasts, tools, leather, heels, vintage fabrics and braids, buckles, old machines (some working), and books. People often ask us where we get our inspiration. The designs we come up with are often a result of being surrounded by so much stuff…stuff you can make things out of on a whim. Each pair of shoes is handmade by the two of us using a variety of materials and tools and a few essential but aging machines. We have a dog Dash, who lays around the workshop a lot. Our beautiful old border collie Sunny, died a couple of years ago but we haven’t got the heart to take down his picture yet. It all makes for the perfect organised chaos that is Pendragon.
