Pendragon leaf designs like the iconic gum leaf sandals are an original concept that started back in the 1990s with the “Prince of Autumn leaves” shoes.  This is when we started working with natural leather and dyes. We continue to be inspired to make new leaf inspired styles in bespoke shoes, boots and handmade Pendragon accessories.

The original design for the gum leaf sandals was back in the year 2000 when we made our elemental collection.  These are a more simplified version as the original had a small round heel for more of an evening wear elegance. They also had a hand painted insole covering and were a slip on style sandal. These can still be made upon request. Contact us for details.

The humble gum tree is a native to Australia although now grows across the world. (Many in California). The smell of the gum leaves is the smell of the Australian bush. We have a huge Blue Gum Tree that shades our workshop. It drops lots of leaves that are an endless supply of inspiration.

Australian gum leaf sandals are popular for Elven wedding shoes, fairy wedding sandals and for boho style weddings.  Tie up flats are great beach wedding sandals as well as they are comfortable to wear all day.
