This course runs every Monday over a 5 week period. Starting at 9.30 finishing around 4.30 with a break for lunch. February 6, 13, 20, 27 and 6 March.
You will make a pair of lace up derby boots. We’ll take you through the process of choosing lasts, basic design, pattern making, cutting, skiving, decorating leather, sewing, making components and insoles, lasting, soling and finishing. We’ll use natural leathers so you can explore different leather decorating techniques. Suitable for people with some sewing experience and an interest in learning pattern making and footwear construction.

The process of making a pair of boots is a great experience. It’s creative, sculptural, practical, and technical all at once and the journey, because it is a journey, is immensely rewarding. We’ve been sharing our knowledge through workshops now for many years and absolutely love it! It’s always so exciting to see what each student ends up creating , something with their own unique personal stamp!
